Article summary

The output of generation sessions can be configured to be registered against a Dataset so that all dataset capabilities, such as accessing catalog, visualizing data, etc., are available on the generated files.

Attaching dataset when creating a project

The Create Project describes how to attach a dataset when creating a datagen project.

Attaching dataset after creating a project

Navigate to the ‘Datagen projects’ page, and click on the three-dots menu on the card corresponding to your project. Click on ‘Attach’ to attach an existing datagen dataset or create a new datagen dataset.

This opens a dialog to attach an existing dataset or create a new dataset.

The create dataset flow is the same as that described in Create Project.

Registering generated data

After a generation session is complete, register the generated data into the attached dataset by following the following steps.

  • Go to the attached dataset details page by clicking the marked icon on the datagen project card.

  • Go to the ‘Pipeline’ tab and click ‘Ingest now’ for each attached pipeline.

  • Keep defaults in the below form and click ‘Ingest’.

  • Monitor the status by expanding on the pipeline name.

  • Once the ingestion completes, the catalog will be populated, and all operations on the catalog page, such as creating a new visualization job, will be available on the generated images.
