The details of Assets are displayed in the Devices page along with the following options,

Add Cluster

Note: This option is not available in Customer User.

To create a auto provisioned soft edge cluster on AWS/Azure cloud, follow the below instructions:

  1. Click button located on the top right corner of the screen. The Create Cluster window opens.

    Add Cluster 

  2. Enter the Cluster Name.
  3. Click on the dropdown arrow and choose the Location.
  4. To choose the Provider click on the dropdown arrow. Choose aws or azure.
  5. Enter the Total Instance value.
  6. Click on the dropdown arrow and choose the Profile.
  7. Click on the dropdown arrow and choose the SW Version.
    8. Enter the Instance Type.
    9. Enter the Key value pairs under Tags as shown in the below table.
    Note:
    1. Click onicon to add another value.
  8. 2. Click onicon to remove a value.
  9. For AWS: Add three key pairs.

  10. Click Create Cluster to upload the cluster to AkriManager.
  11. Click icon to close the window and go back to the Assets page.

Add Assets

Note: This option is not available in Customer User.

To add assets, follow the below instructions:

  1. Clickbutton in the Actions column. The Add Assets window opens.

  2. Click Browse and select the assets.

  3. Click Start to upload the assets to AkriManager. The uploaded assets are displayed in the Assets page.


The following fields are displayed in the Devices page,

Asset Type

By default all Asset types are displayed with color indication in this column representing the status.

Color Indications for Asset types are shown in the below table:

  1. Click Asset Type drop down list to select multiple assets like,
      • SOURCE(deprecated): In legacy mode and specific to auto domain, this refers to a car
      • MEDIA: It refers to the individual disks or any type of media used for storing the sensor data.
      • JBOD: It is a device with an enclosure near the edge machine with 12 to 16 slots where the disks can be inserted for ingestion.
      • CARTRIDGE: A cartridge is a removable storage device used to physical ship data from edge location to a data center location that has high speed connectivity to the cloud
      • Edge DC: An Edge data center is a cluster of servers used for execution of workflows.
      • DISK GROUP: A disk group is a collection of related disks to be ingested and processed as a unit. In relation to auto domain, a disk group typically groups disks with data collected from a vehicle’s trip over few days

The above assets can be added as Yaml using the Add Assets button.

For the edge, two options are available to add Yaml, either by choosing Add Cluster or Add Assets or (Which is a form).

Note: The Add Cluster button is not available in Customer User.

Asset Name

The asset names are displayed in this column.

To search a particular asset,

  1. Enter the asset name in the field and click Enter on the keyboard.

Asset ID

The asset IDs are displayed in this column.

To search a particular asset by its ID,

  1. Enter the asset ID in the field and click Enter on the keyboard.

Asset Location

The asset locations are displayed in this column.

To search a particular asset by its location,

  1. Enter the location in the field and click Enter on the keyboard.

Asset Status

The asset status is displayed in this column.

To apply filters to the asset status,

  1. Click on the drop down arrow and select the filters. A green tick appears after it is selected.

Actions

Note: This option is not available in Customer User.

The Actions column displays the below options,

In the Physical Edge, to register the newly added edge of an Asset follow the below instructions,

  1. Click the right arrow under the Actions column.
  2. Click icon to register.

    To unregister the newly added edge of an Asset follow the below instructions,

  3. Click the right arrow under the Actions column.
  4. Click icon to unregister.

In the SEM Edge, 

Follow below instruction to resume, suspend and shrink a managed soft edge cluster.

  1. Click the right arrow twice under the Actions column.
  2. Click icon to resume a suspended cluster which was powered off.
  3. Click icon to suspend cluster which was powered on.

    Note: Virtual machines can be controlled by powering on and off from the above options.
  4. Click icon to shrink a cluster.

    Note: A cluster can have upto 4 nodes. Shrink option reduces the number of nodes in the cluster.

Details

This column displays the below options,

View Yaml

To view the added Yaml, follow the below instructions:

  1. Clickicon to view the Yaml.

  2. Click icon to download the Yaml.

  3. Click  icon to close the window and go back to the Assets page.

View Details

To view asset information and enable the functions in the node details follow the below instructions:

  1. Clickicon to view the asset information.
    Note: The below options are not available in Customer User.
  2. Click on the radio button to select the node.
  3. Click to enable system maintenance mode - In this mode, the node is detached from the cluster so that no new jobs are submitted to it. This mode can be used to do a rolling maintenance of the cluster(like updating security patch update) taking down a subset of nodes to maintenance mode at a time.
  4. Click to enable development mode for debugging - In this mode, the node can be used for developer testing of the workflows. Akridata provides CLI tools to deploy and test workflows locally on the node. Please contact Akridata support for more information.
  5. Click to change the log profiles to the profiles listed in the drop down. The log profiles control the categories of logs from the edge nodes that are sent to Akrimanager for centralized search and browsing. A dialogue box with Confirm and Cancel buttons is displayed. Choose the desired option.

          a. Workflow logs: This option enables only workflow execution logs to be sent to Akrimanager.
          b. Service logs: This option enables only Akridata edge software generated logs to be sent to Akrimanager
          c. Workflow + Service logs: All logs are sent to Akrimanager
          d. Stop: No logs are sent to Akrimanager
    Warning: Please consult your organization security policy related to sending logs outside the company intranet before updating this setting.
  6. Click to collect edge logs and upload into S3 location from where it can be downloaded. A dialogue box with Confirm and Cancel buttons is displayed. Choose the desired option. This option is intended to be used for on-demand triggering of log collection and shipment to provide diagnostic information for Akridata support in case of an issue.
  7. Click to view request history. History of all operations is displayed in the same window.
    Note: This is a read only operation.
  8. Click to refresh the history that is displayed.

List Deployed Workflows

To view the deployed workflows, follow the below instructions:

  1. Clickicon to view the deployed workflows.
  2. Click icon to close the window and go back to the Assets page.

Show Workflows Group Instance

To view the workflow group instance associated with a disk group, follow the below instructions:

  1. Clickicon to view the workflow group instance.
